The original name of the program is “El Chavo del Ocho”, which translates as “The Boy of Eight”. In Brazil, Chavo ended up becoming Chaves. The creator of the series, Roberto Gomes Bolaños, is nicknamed Chespirito, which means “little Shakespeare”. The character Chaves is eight years old, but when he started playing him, Bolaños was 42, and played him until he was 63. *

But Roberto saw something in his brother that convinced him to play Godinez. After retiring the character, Horacio dedicated himself to producing and directing. The eternal Godinez died of a heart attack, in 99, during the recording of a tribute to the Chespirito series. *
